Learn from the overwhelm. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ I woke up t Learn from the overwhelm.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
I woke up today feeling all sorts of overwhelm... My mind started rushing to:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Things on my to-do list
⚡️My schedule for the day
⚡️Bills & money
⚡️Things I anticipate will be on my to-do list (🙄)
⠀⠀
Honestly, I woke up feeling really good and came out of another @drjoedispenza meditation feeling like I was on Cloud 9...
⠀⠀⠀⠀
My being was begging me to stay in that energy & space but my mind convinced me to look at my phone. *eye roll*
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then it happened—
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My energy was diverted, I lost momentum, and my mind became the busy leader again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead of pausing fully, I kept going until @jessicathiefels dropped an epic reminder for me — what is it telling you?
⠀⠀⠀⠀
I remembered immediately.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️The overwhelm is here teach us.
⚡️The overwhelm is telling us what we need.
⚡️The overwhelm is telling us what we desire.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Instead of pushing past these feelings or ignoring them, we can use them to learn more about ourselves & what’s really going on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Next time you feel stress, overwhelm or anxiety kick in, try these:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Pause immediately. If you can, close your eyes. Take a few long deep breaths sending the inhale to your low belly to ground you.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Once your breath is steady, ask yourself, what is it telling me? Let the thoughts flutter around until you land on something — a feeling, thought, download, whatever.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Ask yourself, what do I truly need or desire in this moment? Maybe it’s checking something important off your list. Maybe it’s getting quiet, doing yoga or meditation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t let overwhelm suck the energy out of you like a vacuum...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Use it to empower you to take control of your energetic state & keep moving forward.

I was re-inspired to do this by a question @naturalwellnesstips had in one of her recent @instagram posts that’s asked us what habit we are choosing to harness in 2021...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And at the end of my podcast interview with @jessicathiefels, she asked me a question that she asks all her guests — “What are you getting intentional about right now?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m choosing to pay close attention to my thoughts.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You know the every day thoughts that slip in your mind & sometimes you let them bounce around in your mind...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Giving them attention by letting them linger...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The ones that say things like, “But every time you’ve done this, this has happened.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Or, “you can’t do this, here’s why...”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Let those go.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just because those thoughts took up space & held validity in your mind at one point, doesn’t mean they get to moving forward.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You don’t need to keep living in the memory of the past.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
That’s exactly what you’re doing when you let old nagging thoughts hang in your conscious awareness.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You want to create NEW thoughts that elicit NEW FEELING & EMOTIONS and therefore NEW RESULTS.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You have to be willing to be the GATE KEEPER of your own thoughts.

Are you willing to be that for your own wellbeing & future?

I did a podcast interview today with my bestie in life, growth & biz, @jessicathiefels, and we talked A LOT about inner work.

We discussed the inner work & personal growth as it relates to our relationships, life and our businesses.

Because one thing we’ve both realized is that the more willing we are to show up for ourselves—to heal, grow and evolve as humans,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more aligned & expansive our lives and businesses will be.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is not what I learned in school....
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what I’m learning & integrating now after doing a SH*T TON of inner work this past year —
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👉🏽 It’s not about WHAT you’re doing, it’s about HOW you’re doing what you’re doing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more I choose to show up and dedicate myself to my healing & growth, the more connected I am to my intuition and trust.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more connected I am to my intuition and trust, the more potent my work & my energy becomes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
& the more potent my energy & work becomes, the more magnetic I am to my ideal clients.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And well, the more magnetic I am, the more my business expands.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don’t be fooled — this is true for all of us...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️When we take the time to do the inner work, we become a clearer channel.
⚡️When we become a clearer channel, we become more aligned.
⚡️When we become more aligned, we become more authentic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And honestly, authenticity is sexy. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’m talking about creating freedom in all ways...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️In the mind — from chronic stress/anxiety loops & nagging thoughts
⚡️In the body — from aching joints, tight muscles & chronic tension
⚡️In your life — from jumping to/from tasks, checking off your to-do list & struggling to find a work/life balance
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My morning routine looks different everyday but it often includes a variety of the same practices.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I find that having SOME structure keeps me grounded & holds me accountable,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But also allows me to be easy & fluid so I’m constantly listening to what my body/mind needs each day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I help a lot of my private clients create healthy routines that feel accessible, exciting & nurturing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And ones that actually STICK.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are three things that I recommend trying when you’re ready to implement or up level your morning routine—
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These are the three pieces that get my clients get great results that last—
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1- Introduce things slowly, one by one. Don’t go into it thinking you’re going to do 30 minutes of meditation, a long yoga class, etc etc.
⚡️Start small & build momentum
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2- Attach your morning routine to a bigger why. When you remember how good you’ll feel throughout the day after taking time for you, or how much different you’ll show up for your work meeting or husband, it changes the game
⚡️Let it be bigger than you
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3- Let yourself “mess up” and fall off track. I know, it sounds counter-intuitive but I see so many people holding themselves back from maintaining routines bc they beat themselves up so much when they miss a day or two
⚡️Let your failures be your lesson & motivation to continue
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I didn’t do my morning routines 2 days last week &  I felt it in my body and mind. Instead of beating myself up, I chose to reconnect to my purpose & recommit to the practice
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And it feels so good to be back 🙌🏼
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I’m talking about anxiety.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like a lot of you, I used to try and ignore it
⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Hoping it would magically disappear
⚡️Letting it linger in my body and mind until it felt like I was gonna burst
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started to let it happen again tonight. (🙄)
⠀⠀
I sat down on my couch and tried to ignore the undertone of anxiety creeping up into my thoughts and tightening my chest.
⠀⠀⠀
Until my bestie @jessicathiefels asked me what the anxiety was telling me.
⠀⠀⠀
A question we ask each other often when we’re moving through stuff.
⠀⠀
A question that always stops me in my tracks.
⠀⠀⠀
A question that serves more as a reminder than anything...
⠀⠀⠀
⚡️A reminder that we are not our anxiety, or any other feeling and emotion
⚡️A reminder that #anxiety is often a cry from our body to listen/pay attention
⠀⠀
Do you stay and listen?
⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because my friend, the only way out is through...
⠀⠀⠀
& the  wisdom is in your body, not in your minds perception of your reality.
⠀⠀
And so I closed my eyes and dropped in to my body. I felt the tightness in my chest, the shallowness of my breath & the rapid movement of my thoughts.
⠀⠀⠀
So much of me wanted to blink my eyes open, get up & go distract myself.
⠀⠀
Instead I chose to stay — remembering that peace is always on the other side of being in the muck.
⠀
That is my invitation for you when you feel anxious and all you want to do is turn around & run away...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
STAY.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️Stay until you feel your breath lengthen & your body soften
⚡️Stay until the jumping monkeys in your mind simmer down
⚡️Stay until you can ask yourself “What are you here to tell me?” 
⚡️Stay until you feel or hear the answer come through
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The answers we’re looking for & the peace we are seeking can be found in the wisdom of our own bodies,
⠀⠀⠀⠀
and in our ability to sit through the massive discomfort until we find space again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I spent some time with this one this morning regarding my business...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And the truth is, I’d show up with more ease, lightness and a sense of trust.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’d let myself be more me — more of the silly, chill, wild, and intuitive me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I wouldn’t stress about doing everything on my to-do list like a crazy person.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I would take care of myself as my top priority — my body, heart and mind.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Of course we have NO IDEA whether what we desire in this moment will actually come to fruition, if it’s even meant to come to fruition, or whether we’ll even desire the same thing next week, month or year...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All we know is what’s present — the wild pulse of our hearts desire and the uncertain future that’s ahead.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How you fill the space in between is the key to your success, fulfillment + alignment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s what’s clear:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️When we feel certain, we trust more.
⚡️When we feel supported, we can relax.
⚡️When we feel excited, we become magnetic.
⚡️When we feel safe to fully express ourselves, we show up authentically.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So let me ask you this....

What’s stopping you from showing up in this way EVEN IF you don’t know what’s next?

2020 was the year I came home to myself. ⠀⠀⠀ 2020 was the year I came home to myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀
I spent the entire year unraveling + breaking shit down... and honestly half of the time it felt like complete self-destruction mode 🥴
⠀⠀⠀
For my #tarottribe, it was a year of back-to-back Tower moments.
⠀⠀⠀
​My word going into 2020 was ALIGNMENT… alignment in my body, mind, heart + life.
⠀⠀
And deep down, I knew I wasn’t in alignment — the buzzing undertone of anxiety daily was proof.
⠀⠀
But shiiiiiit.... what I didn't realize then was that in order to actually come into full alignment, I had to re-adjust and release E V E R Y T H I N G that ​wasn’t that.
⠀⠀⠀
Thoughts, beliefs, values, patterns, relationships, my career, identity—ALL of it.
⠀⠀
Deep down I knew that if I wanted true fulfilment, alignment and joy, I had to do the work to get there and with that:
⠀⠀⠀⠀
⚡️It wasn’t going to be easy
⚡️I had to face the truths I was ignoring
⚡️I had to speak my truth
⚡️I would have to make hard + uncomfortable decisions
⠀⠀
Most importantly, I knew that I had to do it for me and no one else.
⠀⠀
And after 32 years of people pleasing, that was no easy feat...
⠀⠀⠀
I spent the first 3 months oscillating between listening to my gut + being stuck in my head—worrying about what other people thought, asking for advice, and getting even more confused on how to move forward.
⠀⠀⠀
I remember talking with @amynatalieco after hearing a podcast interview she did on intuition, hard decisions + divorce. She had done the work that I was scared to do yet feeling ready to step into. During the call, I realized how much I’d been ignoring my intuition + it was crucial to focus on that first.
⠀⠀⠀
Making hard decisions + releasing things that I needed to even though it broke my heart required me to come home to myself first—to listen to my body and my intuition.
⠀⠀
I share this all because I know so many of you here struggle with knowing what you want and how to listen to your intuition while balancing the emotions and anxiety that often comes with it...

And I want to help you.
